When is this workshop?
Thursday 21st March 2024 7pm-8:15pm (Uk Time) via Zoom.
What happens once I've booked onto the workshop?
If you have booked onto the workshop I will email you with more information. If you are ordering a kit please order by the 15th March to give me enough time to post your kit, which will be sent first class.
I will email you a Zoom workshop link a few days before the workshop.
What will I learn in this workshop?
You will learn how to emboss on lightweight metal using specialist tools which come with the workshop kit. I will also show you different objects etc that you can use to achieve different marks and textures. We will translate your ideas from paper to metal surface. You can create a series of smaller hanging pieces and turn them into a garland or make individual hanging pieces and adorn a Christmas tree with them. Handmade objects are really special and the metal pieces I've been creating for the past 5 years or so are a nod to nostalgia. I will show you examples of my work from when I first started doing this process and showcase some of my projects with the V&A and more.
You will learn how to apply writing and text as well as line and marks onto metal through the embossing and drawing process.
I highly recommend ordering an embossing kit if you are wanting to take part in this workshop as it is a really good starting point to learn from. For each person taking part in the workshop please purchase accordingly.

will this workshop be recorded?
Not this time, unfortunately. I am working on changing this next year and getting better at thinking of how I can make workshops accessible beyond the live demonstrations. However it is important to be to be fully present when I am teaching and I am always able to answer questions (when I can) from people who have taken part in a workshop.
